The Infinite Jester is made up of wire,found objects, antique watch parts, antique costume jewelry and an original drawing on shrink film. He came out of a serendipitous moment on a sunny day when something made me happy. He's large and probably one of the most complex pieces I've constructed.
Jesters have a long history in the realm of human civilization. At one time they had the important function of making the King laugh- no mean feat in 1340 when the Black Plague swept Europe. Whether it was to show the importance of laughter or defiance in the face of disaster, I can't say but jesters certainly captured the imagination.
This one is a gentle one though, forever dancing through time.
